EXCURSIONS
SARATOGA POLO MATCH AND HEAVY HORS D'OEUVRES DINNER

From the dust of over 2,000
years of history, polo, the game of kings gallops toward the
next millennium. For the past 100 years, polo ponies have
thundered up and down the fields of the Saratoga Polo Club,
leaving an impact as exciting as in the times of warriors and
princes. One hundred years of polo in Saratoga is a speck of
time in the history of polo, but oh what a time it has been!
6:15 pm The afternoon session ends. Group prepares for
departure.
6:45 pm Motor coaches transport guests to polo grounds.
7:00 pm Guests will be
treated to a cornucopia of tasting using the freshest
ingredients of the day, expertly-prepared and butler-passed in
the VIP area before and during their specially scheduled polo
match.
7:30 pm Guests enjoy their own private world-class polo
match on Whitney Field, one of the most historic Polo fields in
the United States.
9:30 pm Motor coaches return guests to hotels.

TO FT. WILLIAM HENRY AND LAC du SAINT SACREMENT DINNER

In May of 2007, the Saint
Sacrement began her eighteenth consecutive year of service.
There is no finer Adirondack experience than a luncheon,
brunch or dinner cruise aboard the "Saint". Guests will be
served excellent food in the most pleasant setting on the lake,
all the while enjoying live entertainment, a full narration and
sites of interest along the way.
12:00 pm The morning session ends. Group prepares for
departure.
12:30 pm The group departs for Lake George.
1:30 pm The group will arrive at Ft. William Henry and
will be taken on a tour of the historical fort. Sitting atop a
small rise, Fort William Henry commanded the southern end of
Lake George November 1755 to August 1757. The Fort’s history is
short but its final tumultuous days have been retold, although
inaccurately, in the “Last of the Mohicans” by James Fennimore
Cooper. The museum contains many artifacts discovered during
archeological digs at the site and search of the lake near the
fort. Those on the tour will experience musket and cannon
firings, musket molding, a bomb toss and a tour of the museum
store.
4:00
pm After the informative tour of Ft. William Henry the group
will have some time to experience the quaint village of Lake
George. Lake George is steeped in history, surrounded by
majestic mountains, and caressed by the waters of one of
America’s most beautiful lakes. Take this time to relax in the
parks, browse through the many shops or to be entertained by
it’s many attractions.
6:00 pm Group will start boarding the Lac du Saint
Sacrement at the Steel Pier.
7:00 pm The Lac du Saint Sacrement will begin a
three-hour dinner cruise around beautiful Lake George.
10:00 pm Group will disembark from the boat and boards
buses to return to Saratoga Springs.

A GLIMPSE OF SARATOGA / LUNCH / SARATOGA BATTLEFIELD
9:00 am Participants gather in hotel lobby, where they
are greeting by their step-on tour guide. They travel by deluxe
motor coach for the Glimpse of Saratoga Tour, a historical tour
of health, history and horses in Saratoga Springs. Participants
will learn about the healing powers of the city's spring waters,
and Diamond Jim Brady and the early casinos. Additional Topics
include Funny Cide’s home, the Harness track, Oklahoma training
track, Yaddo Gardens and Canfield Casino.

11:00 am The tour will end with lunch at the historical
Longfellows Inn and Restaurant situated at the Foothills of the
Adirondack Mountains. This peaceful inn and gracious restaurant
was created by imaginatively renovating two 1915 dairy barns.
1:00 pm Group re-boards motor coach.
1:15 pm Group will tour the Saratoga
Battlefield, the site of the first significant American military
victory during the Revolution. The Battles of Saratoga rank
among the fifteen most decisive battles in world history. Here
in 1777 American forces met, defeated and forced a major British
army to surrender, an event which led France to recognize the
independence of the United States and enter the war as a
decisive military ally of the struggling Americans.
First authorized as a New York state site in 1927 on the sesquicentennial of the
Battles, the Battlefield was made part of the National Park
System in 1938 when Saratoga National Historical Park was
authorized by the United States Congress.

FT. TICONGEROGA AND WHITEHALL, NY
9:00 am Participants gather in hotel lobby, and board
tour coach.
10:30 am The group will visit the Fort
Ticonderoga National Historic Landmark and come away with a
deeper understanding of American history from the French and
Indian War and Revolutionary War periods of the 18th century.
Participants will experience the meaning of freedom, personal
sacrifice and public responsibility as the stories of the men,
women and children whose lives became entwined in the colonial
wars unfold through the Fort's collections, educational programs
and reenactments.
12:30 pm Box lunch and departure for
Whitehall, NY, Home of the U.S. Navy. Boxed lunch will consist
of a sandwich, chips and drink.
1:30 pm Whitehall, steeped in Revolutionary War history,
is still the link between America and Canada through Lake
Champlain and its highway and rail links. This is where the
first fleet of ships was built to battle the British in the
Battle of Valcour, 1776. Whitehall was settled in 1759 at the
southern end of Lake Champlain. Founded as the colonial town of
Skenesboro by British Army Captain Philip Skene, this community
became the first permanent settlement on Lake Champlain. An
important center of maritime trade, Skene developed lake travel
north to reach the West Indies via Quebec.
2:00 pm Group boards coach for return to
Saratoga.

MUSEUM SHUTTLE AND LUNCH
Whether you're into history, art, sports,
cars, or more, Saratoga County's Museums offer a wide variety of
great experiences if you're looking to spend an afternoon, an
evening, or an entire day!
9:00 am Museum shuttle will pick-up guests at their
hotels and begin to loop, stopping at museums along the way.
Options include the dance museum, automobile museum, racing
museum, military museum and more.
10:00 am Every 45 minutes the shuttle will loop again,
guests can hop on and go to the next museum, or stay another 45
minutes at the one they are currently enjoying.

12:00 pm Board the museum shuttle this time and go to
Lillian's restaurant located on Broadway in downtown Saratoga
Springs and enjoy lunch in their private upstairs room. Opened
in January of 1974, borrowing the name from Broadway actress
Lillian Russell, summer resident of the Spa City, Lillian's
friendly and courteous service is guaranteed with each meal.
1:30 pm Guests board motor coaches for
return to hotel.
